No more KoboGlo based instruments from goFly

The smart GoFly instruments which added

• a sensitive vario
• a GPS
• a piezo speaker
• a fat battery

to a Kobo eReader, all nicely fitted in a 3D housing and set up with XCSoar, TopHat or LK8000, aren’t available any more.  The manufacurer says on his Website that the outdated base model KoboGlo is no longer available for a decent price. A full standalone device is supposed to be in the pipeline, but so far everyone who tried to succeed in that field (i.e.Earl) has failed.

GoFly instruments proved to work even in temperatures which were supposed to be to low for eInk displays (see picture). Due to the lack of an alternative their owners should keep their devices.
