New flight calculations in Version 1.8.040

The calculation of peak values (ascent, descent, groundspeed) in flights has become thoroughly changed. These values are now averaged in a 4 second window around each trackpoint instead of simply integrating the previous ones. The new calculation also omits trackpoints outside manual borders, and it distinguishes high velocities in a limited area (like i.e. within a long spiral) from measurement quirks.

It is highly recommended to recalculate the whole log once after the installation of the update (the update will provide a hint how to do it). Basically pilots with low recording intervals on their vario (like i.e. the SkyTraxx 3.0 which has a hard coded one second interval) will benefit from the change by getting more realistic flight data/peak values.
